Live on the island as a Housekeeping

Public Ablutions Housekeeping

Successful candidates must be comfortable travelling regularly by ferry and working on their feet throughout the day.

Living on the island Housekeeper

As part of a team of four, you will be allocated accommodation blocks across Rottnest Island and be responsible for ensuring properties are cleaned and presented to a high standard for guests.

Duties include:

Cleaning bathrooms, showers and toilets

Cleaning bedrooms and living areas

Kitchen cleaning and sanitising

Cleaning outdoor BBQ and patio areas

Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping

General housekeeping and presentation duties

This role is physically demanding and best suited to someone with a strong work ethic and good fitness level.

Essential Requirements:

Valid WA Driver's Licence

White Card

Minimum 6 months housekeeping experience

Availability across 7 days between 6:00am and 8:00pm as required

Ability to work independently and within a team

Reliable and punctual with strong communication skills

Comfortable travelling by ferry (must not suffer from sea sickness)

Own bicycle for transportation around the island

Bike must have a working headlight/bike light

Helmet is mandatory

Additional Information:

Candidates will be subject to a 3-month probation period

Accommodation cleaning teams operate across various locations on the island

Reliable and high-performing employees may be offered additional shifts

Public Ablutions Housekeeper

We are currently seeking candidates to assist with cleaning public ablution facilities across Rottnest Island.

Working alongside another team member, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards across 22 public toilet blocks located throughout the settlement and outer island areas.

Duties include:

Cleaning toilets and urinals

Sweeping and mopping floors

Sanitising amenities

General cleaning and maintenance

Maintaining cleanliness of surrounding exterior areas

This role involves extensive walking and physical activity and is suited to candidates with a good level of fitness.

Essential Requirements:

Previous hotel housekeeping or hotel cleaning experience

Valid WA Driver's Licence (or the ability to obtain one)

White Card

Availability Monday to Friday, with flexibility for weekend work when required

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong reliability and communication skills

Comfortable travelling by ferry (must not suffer from sea sickness)

Uniform Requirements

Candidates are required to attend work in:

Plain black t-shirt or jumper

Long black pants or black jeans

Black enclosed footwear or comfortable black sneakers

Company shirts may be provided at a later date and remain the property of the company. Staff are expected to maintain a neat, professional appearance when travelling to and from the island.
